Fifteen years of Small Business Saturday called for something special. American Express chose to mark the moment by turning its focus to the people behind the businesses, those who shape their communities one customer at a time.

Made for small business owners, the films needed to feel like recognition, not advertising.

A wine shop in Harlem. A baker in New Jersey. A vintage clothing outlet in San Francisco. A restaurant in Charleston. All these very different businesses had one thing in common. They all enjoy the powerful backing of American Express.

These films are less about commerce than commitment. A portrait of partnership, pride, perseverance and place. And a reminder that small businesses are built not on transactions, but on trust.

The campaign won Best in Show B2B at the Financial Communications Society Awards.
