Uncommon Thinking

The mindset behind the buildings.

Some architecture practices might play it safe. RSHP start with a blank sheet of paper, an open mind and extreme curiosity.

The film needed to speak to multiple audiences — potential recruits, existing clients and the wider world. Rather than making different films for each, we found the one thing that connected them all: the way RSHP thinks.

Our brief was not to catalogue projects, but to reveal that mindset. A way of thinking that resists the obvious to find functional elegance rooted in positive purpose.

We centred the film on a small cross-section of voices from across the practice. Interviews were structured but allowed to unfold with space and silence. The camera lingered on pauses, on glances, on the architecture itself, inviting the audience to look twice.

Shot in and around The Leadenhall Building and shaped by composed, abstract frames, the film’s measured, contemplative approach is confident enough to leave room for interpretation, allowing the audience to find their own understanding of Uncommon Thinking.

The film won Gold for Editing at the EVCOM Film Awards.
