A film three centuries in the making.
When one of Britain’s most prestigious luxury brands marks 325 years, the film has to be worthy of the occasion. Berry Bros. & Rudd needed something that could speak to customers, producers and staff alike, honouring a legacy while feeling entirely alive to the present.
Having worked with them for many years, we know the brand intimately. The script we shaped took the story on a journey unrestricted by chronology, traversing continents, occasions and the winemaking process itself. Written in the second person, the voiceover speaks directly to the viewer, drawing every part of their audience personally into the story.
On screen, new footage was woven seamlessly with archive and library material. The joins are invisible. Intimate close-ups of grapes, glass and wine set against sweeping viticultural landscapes, held together by restrained editing and subtle sound design, creating something that felt as precise and considered as the wines themselves.
The result was a film as distinctive as the brand it celebrated.
The film won at the EVCOM Film Awards.
